Application Usage
Information about all application sessions started on a client. The table storing this information in database can grow very fast and therefore this data should be regulated by filter or by changing the setting “clear history” from 3 (default) to 1 month.

This information is collected from notifications from WMI. When user closes down an application, “Appusage.dat” is updated. In those cases where applications were started before agent, the user name will be “System”.

This information is collected in the following way: when agent is installed, a registry post in HCLM auto run is added referring to logonwatch.exe (installed with the agent). Each time a user logs on this file is run and writes to LogonQueue.dat and in the registry HCLM/Nilex Agent username and date.
When agent collects inventory, the file LogonQueue is read and then cleared.
