CI Advanced Export

NSP besides the standard also provides advanced CMDB export.

Select first in CI List which CI Type you want to export. Then select Export button above the list, in dropdown choose Advanced.

The advanced export form consist of five main areas:

1.  Advanced export Header

2.  Left panel, CI Types

3.  List of properties

4.  Right panel, selected properties

5.  Advanced export Footer

 

Advanced export Header

Advanced export header (1) contains name of CI Type which is selected in CI List for export. The CIs of this type will be included in the exported file.

Left panel

Panel on the left side (2) is used for selecting CI Type. After choosing CI type list of properties is changed due to selected type (and it´s sub-types). Left panel contains search feature that allows you to search CI Types from the tree.

Note: Selection of CI Type in left panel (2) will not change which type of CIs to include in export. This selection only change which properties you can select. Which CI Type to be exported is already chosen in CI List and is displayed in Advance export Header (1).

List of properties

List of properties (3) consist a list (a tree structure) of all properties referred to chosen CI Type in left panel. Select which columns should be displayed in export file by marking checkboxes.

Right panel

Panel of the right side (4) contains selected properties. You can change the column order in file by moving the rows in the list up or down using drag-and-drop.

Advanced export Footer

Advanced export footer (5) contains options for specifying export file.

Select Export Type. Dropdown menu contains PDF and Excel.

Define sorting of the export file by select column in dropdown (Sort by) and Sort direction (Ascending or Descending).

 

Click Export (6) to create the export file.

When file is created a form is displayed in the web browser. From here you can load/open/save the export file. This functionality differs a bit depending of which browser you are using. Example:
